A rise or fall in open interest shows that money is flowing into or out of a futures contract, respectively. In futures markets, rising open interest is considered good for the current trend.
Open Interest is also a good measure of liquidity in the underlying contract

I received a newsletter on resource option trading. They provide timely advise for option trading on commodities, such as sugar, copper, gold, etc. I am a novice but would like to give it a try with initial $ 8000. Can anyone tell me which online commodity trading brokage house provides great services with reasonable (least expensive) commission?

Answer by daveduncan40 I advise caution with this investment. Unless you are VERY well informed in a particular commodity then this is a dangerous move. I would suggest you begin your investing in stock mutual funds, especially index funds. Commodities fluctuate far too much for a novice.
I was told that S&P futures can be used as leading indicators when day trading stocks. However, I do not have access to Futures through my broker. As an alternative, can I use the Spy (ETF) or the SPX (S&P Index) as a leading indicator when day trading stocks?

They have no taxes, no government intervention into the market, no socialism, no political correctness, no gun regulations, no healthcare, no entitlements, and everything is a commodity for sale in the free-est market on earth! People there get to walk around with machine guns openly. They dont have to be forced to spend their money on other people. Its almost like the perfect conservative paradise they been begging about! Why they dont they go there and enjoy the free market without big government controlling their lives?
