A question asked by shajahanshafi: which are the sources to know trending futures/commodities to help my day trading?

Most comprehensive answer:
Answer by TC Sir, nothing can help your day trading. I garuntee you that the more you trade, the more you will lose. Money does not come easy. You may win for awhile, a month, maybe even a year. But eventually the odds will catch up with you, and your money will plumet to the bottom of the ocean. Stop being a speculator, start being an investor. Read some books, study, become smart about your money, and you’ll succeed. I’d start with “The Intelligent Investor” by Benjamin Graham. Followed by “A Random Walk Down Wall Street” by Burton G. Malkiel.

Question by lromani11: What stocks/commodities/MFs/ETFs, etc would I always invest in & WHY?
What stocks/commodities/MFs/ETFs, etc would I always invest in & WHY?
My chosen answer:
Answer by JKRB If you want to start investing, the only investment you should ALWAYS make is educating yourself about investing. Buy some of those “Dummy” books, they’re actually really good for beginning investors. Learn how to read a financial statement and what to look for in it. As far as investing itself, there are none that you should ALWAYS invest in. They all have their ups and downs and their own traits. There are times when even the so called safe ones can lose you a lot of money if you’re in them at the wrong time. When to invest is more important than what to invest in and that is where educating yourself comes in.
I you are looking for information about futures market then I have little doubt that you will find this video especially useful.
This morning, the S&P 500 Index e-mini futures (ES U1) are trading higher by 13.75 points to 1178.25 per contract. This is a solid move in the futures market as the European markets are trading higher as well. Often when the futures are trading higher to start the day the European markets signal weakness and most rallies will fade after the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. This may not be the case today as the early rally has a better than average chance of holding up throughout the entire session. Traders should not take anything for granted in this environment as things can change on a dime. Video Rating: 5 / 5
A question from doug l: How do I take my love/interest of the stock market, bonds, futures etc, and be employed in the industry?
I have a US History Degree
I live in basically downtown Chicago near the board of trade & Merc. I would like to take my strong interest, into a position within the actual functions of the market. Besides being an at home day- trader, how could I get into a full time role where I’m either trading within the CBOT/Merc or working for a firm involved in Stocks/Finance.
I dont have any experience in the industry, have a college Degree, and 2 years in sales.

Question by Mike: Success in Trading Commodities?
Is there a lot of money in trading commodities? Is it for the individual investor? And is it possibly more solid than stock trading?
Selected answer:
Answer by educado Hello,
the answer to your questions is simply no, no, and no. The reason is that commodities, unlike stocks, are bets on the price of a commodity rather than bets on the profitiability of a company. Companies learn new ways to make more money and take advantage of new technologies. However, comodities only benefit from swings in supply and demadn.
Rather than gambling on commodity prices, you can choose an option that lies somewhere in between but that also involves commodities. Along with other diversified investments, you could also invest part of your money in companies that are greatly affected by the swings in the commodity that you are interested in betting on. That way, you also benefit from a companies organized pursuit of increasing profits by finding ways to cut costs and improve efficiency.
One of the best videos I have come across on the subject of commodity markets.
For the latest Jim Rogers, go to JimRogersBlog.com – As China and the world grows, supply will get tighter, especially if no one has been adding productive capacity. No one has ever called you to tell you to invest in commodities. They always want you to invest in a mutual fund. Historically, commodities markets last on average 18 years. That means it should end somewhere between 2014 and 2022. Soybeans are 70% below its all time high. In the seventies, it never made it to the teens. Sugar used to be 66 cents, and now it is 9 cents. Look at the agricultural products. These are all well below their highs. It was a disaster for people who got wiped out. The tourist industry has been devastated. A frost in Florida can make a lot of people rich. A lot of people will also lose money. You’ve got to learn to think both ways. One way to invest in raw materials is to buy a fund. PIMCO is a viable option. There are 30000 stock mutual funds in the world.. At the same time, there are only 3 or 4 commodity funds. Eventually there will be thousands of commodity funds. That is when it will be time to sell out. Video Rating: 5 / 5
A question asked by Summer of Love Commando: Since layers of Commodity trading, worked so well for Oil, will it be able to raise the price of food also ???
I see the price of corn has doubled and caused a domino effect on other grains.
It won’t be long until we are all broke hungry and out of gas.
No 1 answer:
Answer by Poke_the_Bear Has it occurred to you that it isn’t commodity trading that is the problem. Back in the 90′s when gas was cheaper nobody blamed commodity trading. If I were you I would look more towards bio-fuels and the problems in that arena. Not only that, Government also has a hand in this mess we have internationally.
