Yes,they are. Remember, when the stock market freefalls it is at first good for consumers since prices soar down. As time passes though, employment rises and the low costs are checked.
Stocks are supposed to be down. It is Oil and Precious metals that benefit (Gold, Silver, Platinum, Rhodium). Fortunately these have taken a recent hit too, and it has allowed those who are prepared to but in cheap.
